Angela Chustz-Parent is the founder and President of Louisiana Fight Club, LLC. When the company was originated in May of 2007, this avid MMA fan found a need for one media center for all Louisiana MMA promoters, fighters, and fans to find out about the hottest local MMA news on promotions, fighters, and to host a calendar of all upcoming events in the Baton Rouge and surrounding areas.
Angela attended Southeastern Louisiana University (1990-1994) and Louisiana State University (1999-2001) for most of her college coursework. She later completed her Bachelors in Business Management from the University of Phoenix campus in Baton Rouge in 2006, and followed up by completing her MBA there as well in the Fall of 2007.
Angela grew up with the love of boxing, with her family enjoying Friday night boxing matches watching some of the most respected fighters like Ali, Forman, Hollyfield, and Sugar Ray. Her first live boxing event was when she was 13 years old along side of her grandfather who was a prize fighter and a World War II Veteran, her father who is a Vietnam Veteran who boxed in the U.S. Airforce, and her uncle. There were always boxing gloves in the house for anyone who wanted to practice on each other.
She found an interest in the sport of MMA in 2006, and started to massage fighters professionally pre and post event. Angela recieved her professional massage license in 1996. While living in Puerto Rico in 1999 - 2000, she was able to work with Hector Camacho Jr. on his pre and post event therapy for rehabilitation and wellness.
To obtain more information about the sport of MMA, she took her first sports journalist position on an internet radio show interviewing UFC fighters and top emerging fighters across the United States. Six months later is when she took it upon herself to open her own business on a media related basis in her own home state.
Since two years of the company's inception, the MMA community has grown at an extreme rate in Louisiana and along the Gulf Coast, as well as, nationwide.
Angela has went on to recieve her judging certification from the UFC referree, Steve Magazatti, which was held by the Louisiana State Boxing and Wrestling Commission. Along with attending over 50 events, she is an avid participant in supporting the Louisiana Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Federation since its inception and in learning more about the sport.
With her qualifications, she has earned the respect of the Louisiana State Boxing and Wrestling Commission in becoming the 1st female MMA judge in the state in May of 2009.
She has obtained new business opportunities every quarter growing more towards media relations. As of May of 2009 she also recieved the opportunity to be a MMA sports journalist for the most popular and only Baton Rouge Metro paper, The Advocate - online.
